At Wellness & Development for Women in Sierra Leone (WDW-SL), our programs are designed to improve women’s health and wellbeing while strengthening economic empowerment and capacity building for women and girls.

🩺 Women’s Health, Wellness & Dignity
WDW-SL promotes the physical, mental, and reproductive health of women and girls by improving access to essential healthcare services and preventive health education.
Key Focus Areas:
- Community health outreach and mobile health services
- Maternal, reproductive, and adolescent health education
- Nutrition education and healthy living practices
- Menstrual health and hygiene education
- Mental health awareness and basic psychosocial support
- Household hygiene and sanitation education to prevent disease
These programs help women and girls live healthier lives, reduce preventable illness, and maintain dignity and wellbeing.
🚰 Women’s Economic Empowerment & Capacity Building
WDW-SL strengthens women’s economic resilience by equipping them with skills, knowledge, and opportunities to generate income and lead within their communities.
Key Focus Areas:
- Vocational and life-skills training for women and girls
- Entrepreneurship and small business development
- Financial literacy, savings, and income-generation initiatives
- Support for women-led micro-enterprises
- Leadership development and mentorship for women and girls
🚰🌾 Women in Agriculture, Food Security & Sustainable Livelihoods
WDW-SL promotes women’s participation in agriculture as a pathway to improved nutrition, income generation, and community resilience.
We support women and girls engaged in agriculture through training, resources, and partnerships that strengthen sustainable livelihoods and food systems.
Key Focus Areas:
- Women-led smallholder farming and agri-enterprise development
- Nutrition-sensitive agriculture for household food security
- Climate-smart agriculture and environmental conservation practices
- Agricultural skills training and extension support for women
- Provision of basic agricultural starter inputs (such as seeds and simple tools) to support training, demonstration plots, and women-led pilot farming activities, subject to availability.
- Post-harvest handling, value addition, and market access
- Support for women farmers’ groups and cooperatives
These programs enhance food availability, improve nutrition outcomes, and strengthen women’s economic resilience while promoting environmentally sustainable farming practices.
